The Railracing Angels is now out

I published The Railracing Angels a couple of weeks ago. It is now available on all platforms, via Amazon, Kobo and Smashwords.

To help promote the series, I have created an online store at Zazzle. Here is the link: http://www.zazzle.co.uk/julieangels/gifts

News on Railracing Angels

Publication is now delayed until the new year. I have just received email comments from my editor and it involves a lot of changes to the script. One of these is change of pov, again. I will now change it to Lizzie’s pov. I will also delete the bit about seeing the boys’ houses and how they reacted to the danger.

Change of point of view for Railracing Angels

There has now been a change in the point of view for the book. I did have it in first person point of view and in two halves: :Lizzie then Danny. But my editor has said that as there is repetition in a lot of places, it becomes boring to read. So it has now changed to third person pov eg he said, she did…. And it will be a lot shorter than intended. Once I have finished it, I will let you know how long it is then.

Cover for next book

Sorry I haven’t been here recently, have been busy writing the third in the Angel series. It is called ‘The Railracing Angels’ and teams up Lizzie and Danny. I now have a cover for the ebook and here it is.

I chose a plainish background this time, thinking it would be more effective to readers. What do you think?

A teaser for Railracing Angels – Book 3

I haven’t been here lately as I have been writing other projects, but now that I am working on Book 3 in the series I’m back.

I thought I’d put a teaser in the way of the first paragraph of Railracing Angels, Book 3, here. So here it is:

LIZZIE
“I wonder what this pair test will be like and what it involves,” I said to Danny.
As I said this, the classroom began fading: the cupboards and chairs turned into whiteness and the grey walls turned blue.
“I think we’re about to find out,” he said.
Then we heard a voice saying, “How about a bit of excitement, instead of just driving around?”
We were now looking down at country lanes, and saw a car with two boys and two girls, who all looked our age.
I looked at Danny to say, “What do you think they’re going to do?”
Danny shrugged.
Then the male teenage voice said, “I was thinking. There’s a railway along here. How about chasing it or racing it?”
“Let’s race it, Freddie,” the other boy replied.

So, what is in store for Lizzie and Danny? Apart from challenging teenagers, having to relive their memories again, there is a twist this time. They have an invisible and unknown enemy who wants them to fail. I am having fun writnig this book, and am nearly 9000 words in it already. This is going to be a double story.

Danny

Want to know what Danny looks like in Racing Angel, which will hopefully be out next week? Well, this is how I have pictured him as.Danny

Let me know if you think it is how you imagined him after reading Angel 2.

Racing Angel blurb

Below is the blurb for The Racing Angel.

When a car race goes terribly wrong and eighteen-year-old Danny Usborne crashes into a wall, he dies and becomes a lost angel.  He’s then sent back to Earth to prevent another teenager from doing a foolish act and ending up like him.  With persuasion and newly-found powers of speed, Danny passes his test and becomes a trainee guardian angel.

Let me know what you think.  Is it exciting enough for you to want to buy the ebook when it comes out? Or does it need more oomph to it?  I will act on any comments that are given.

The cover for The Racing Angel

I have now got a cover for ‘The Racing Angel’, the next ebook in the series.  And here it is:

This is Danny on his motorbike, as an angel. What do you think?  I really like it, esp the background.  It gives it a more surreal edge to it, I think.  I did originally choose an image of a young man riding his bike along a road, but it was too costly to purchase.  So I chose this one.  Let me know what you think of this cover.  As I said, I love it already

Next week I am going to post the blurb for the book.  I will put both cover and blurb on here once the book is published.
